Whatever the use, it is essential to choose suitable projectiles. Although similar to bow arrows, crossbow arrows – also called bolt or quarrel – are shorter and more robust.

Choosing the right crossbow arrows based on needs and expectations

To optimize your crossbow performance, equip it with quality arrows. The choice depends on several criteria: the size of your crossbow, arrow diameter, type of use (leisure, training, forest, etc.), and weapon power. The Hattila store offers a wide selection meeting all needs.

Different types of crossbow arrows

Low-power crossbows (50 to 80 pounds) require small arrows less than 14 inches (35.56 cm), made of plastic or metal. For more powerful models (120 to 180 pounds), you need arrows from 14 to 22 inches (35.56 to 55.88 cm), with a diameter of 6 to 8 mm depending on the weapon's power. 16 or 22 inch arrows are the most common.

Tips vary according to use: square or pointed tips for forest shooting, foam tips for recreational shooting or training. Skill level also plays a role in the choice of ammunition.

Finally, you can opt for assembled arrows (with integrated fixed tip) or arrows with removable heads, where the tip can be replaced as needed. The choice will depend on your preferences and crossbow experience.
