What is a bow press used for?

Practicing compound archery means using the most mechanical bow in the discipline. Its maintenance therefore also requires special tools given its power.

The bow press is an essential equipment for compound bows as it allows for changing strings and cables, adjusting cams (synchronization, alignment), or installing and adjusting the peep sight.

Without a press, it's impossible to unstring a compound bow, unlike traditional or recurve bows which can be unstrung by hand or with the help of a stringer.

The fixed bow press

It's a heavy press, which may be considered bulky, but it simply needs to be attached to a workbench. It is used by clubs, competitive archers who do everything themselves. They are also found in specialized shops.

The fixed press allows the archer to work calmly on their bow, at the right height and in complete safety. A lever or crank allows them to manage the pressure exerted on the bow when performing an operation on it.

Spare parts make them compatible with all bows very easily. On some models - such as those from the Last Chance brand - you can also have other options like a mechanical bow square attached to it, which allows you to check cam synchronization or bow power at a glance.
