EK Archery Cobra RX Adder automatic crossbow: the pinnacle of cocking technology!

What a revolution this crossbow is! It's the result of collaboration between EK Archery, of course, but also a German inventor and YouTuber: Jörg Sprave, whose signature we find on the crossbow's magazine. The story is quite simple because Jörg is a skilled tinkerer and one day he takes an EK Archery cobra 80 lbs crossbow that he equips with a magazine (most certainly inspired by the Chinese Chu Ko Nu crossbow, which I invite you to watch our presentation on YouTube) and seeing this, EK immediately understood the incredible potential, so as they had just launched the Cobra RX crossbow... well, you can see now what it results in! The best part is that the engineers at EK did a good job and they produced a reliable crossbow right from the start, an incredible worldwide success!

The innovations of the Cobra RX Adder

Now that I've explained its incredible birth, allow me to explain why it's so great!

First, it incorporates the innovations of the Cobra RX, which is itself an evolution of the Cobra R9... So we find all the elements of the Cobra RX but with a black frame: the 130 lbs bow, the AR-15 stock, the sling and the aluminum red dot.

Add to that a fixed magazine capable of carrying 5 bolts (and emptying its contents in seconds) and you have a crossbow with an incredible look and huge accuracy! Not to mention that with a 130 lbs bow but 7.5-inch bolts, it can shoot accurately up to 40 meters and a bolt speed that goes up to 270 FPS (compared to 240 for the R9 and 230 for the RX and its 15-inch bolts), it's already huge and more than enough for leisure shooting. So we'll talk here about the first repeating crossbow (the term "automatic crossbow" is not really appropriate but it works...) that will appeal to the general public and create a frenzied race towards innovation and development of magazine crossbows!

The Stembow Stinger had already come out a bit earlier, but it didn't immediately meet with success, the RX Adder helped it a lot to become known, then other models arrived but none more powerful than the RX Adder (I'm not counting the SIEGE with repetition because it's not sold originally with a magazine, it's an accessory created by Jörg Sprave).

Accessories for the Cobra RX Adder

The accessory mounting rails are 21 mm rails, so you can install lasers, lights, bayonet knives using a scope ring (yes, some have done it!).
Be careful with the scope though, we only recommend the HD-107 Scope from us because it's the only magnifying scope we've found that fits on the rail without interfering with the magazine opening.

Our recommendations regarding the Cobra RX Adder crossbow:

A tip from Hattila: when you cock the crossbow, if the arrow doesn't come to a proper stop at the back of the crossbow, you'll break the nock when the string hits it, tilt the crossbow slightly backward when refilling the magazine.

The special RX Adder bolts made of carbon are equipped with a removable head allowing the installation of high penetration tips .
If you want to hunt with 7.5-inch bolts, then we have designed hunting bolts for RX Adder.
If you want to use 15-inch bolts and put hunting tips, you will need to load the arrow from the front of the crossbow.
